This office is a multi-faceted office with a variety of information access points as outlined below:

Assessments - This office organizes and oversees the various assessment programs for NTSD, 4sight Benchmark Assessments, Pennsylvania System of School Assessments (PSSA), Terra Nova Assessments.

Blended Schools - The district offered on-line education program, Blended Schools, is supervised through this office.  Any student or parent of a student who is entertaining thoughts of accessing education through this program should contact the main office (elementary schools) or the guidance office (middle/high schools) at their attendance area school indicating an interest in this program.  The school will mail out a brochure describing the program, the procedure for accessing the program and an enrollment form.  All paperwork should be submitted to the attendance area school.  The student in question should continue to attend the physical school until a meeting is held and a final decision by the building principal has taken place to determine if this option is appropriate for the student.

Blended Schools also provides many options for the classroom teacher and the district to use to bridge distance gaps both in and out of the district through using blackboard accounts, pronto instant messaging, checking for plagiarism, classroom curriculum and supports, and much more!

Curriculum - We are currently involved in the implementation year for our new math texts, grades K through 12.  We are revising the current science curriculum to match up to the current standards and anchors.  Following that we will be looking at purchasing new texts and materials to support the K to 12 Science curriculum.  Additionally, we plan to diary map our Language Arts/English Curriculum using the Performance Pathways curriculum mapping tool.

Data Analysis - We have developed a District level Data Team.  These district leaders will facilitate school-based data teams along side the building principals.  In turn, the building based team will filter down to grade/subject area data teams and individual classroom teachers who will be utilizing information available through the various assessments (4Sight, PSSA, and Terra Nova) across the years in order to investigate program improvement as well as individual student improvement.  We will use tools such as Performance Tracker, EMetric, Grow Network, PVAAS, and the School Report Card to analyze assessments and develop action plans for school academic improvement.

EAP Tutoring Program - One of the efforts supported by the State of Pennsylvania is the Educational Assistance Program.  We offer tutoring at the 7th, 8th, and 11th grade levels with the intention of improving individual scores on the PSSA.  Students at CVHS, EAHS, and WHS are given targeted interventions in order to improve in the areas that the assessments indicate there is a need.

ELL (ESL) - English Language Learners - The Office of the Principal of Academic Affairs oversees the ELL program for NTSD.  The ESL Program document is available on the District website or one may be obtained by contacting the Principal of Academic Affairs.

Strategic Planning - The Chapter 4 section of the Strategic Plan for NTSD was completed by this office with serious support from a community committee.  We await the next round of adjustments to this section of the document.
