Superintendent Timothy Bowers and the District Professional Development Committee are pleased to announce the schedule for the fifh annual district Summer Professional Academy.  The intent of this academy is to offer a variety of topics that have been recommended by district staff and will enhance professional growth as well as meet the criteria for Contracted Inservice.

Only register for a workshop if indeed you are serious about attending.  For a number of the workshops the district must purchase manuals, books, and supplies.

Only use one form per person.

- Deadline for registration is May 24, 2010

- If a minimum number of participants do not register for a workshop, it will be cancelled and all previously registered participants will be notified.

- Certain workshops may have a maximum number of participants.  You may register for one or more workshops.

- Workshops will be filled on a 'first come--first serve' basis.  Once the maximum number is reached in a workshop, you may be placed on a 'waiting list.'  You will be contacted if there are any cancellations.

- If you intend to use a workshop for contracted inservice, you must complete the 'Contracted Inservice Request Form' and process per contract guidelines.  This will be for the 2010 - 2011 contracted inservice year.

- You will receive an email confirmation of your workshop registration.  Please monitor your school email after the close of school in June for any further workshop updates.

- Act 48 credit will be awarded for applicable workshops according to the new guidelines.  Forms will be available at the time of workshops for completion.  Workshops will be held at Elkland Area High School.

- All workshops will begin each day at 8:00 AM and conclude at 2:30 PM with a half hour lunch break.  Please be prepared to either bring lunch or order out in advance to accomodate this time frame.
